In an effort to bring our members the latest collections and emerging talent from the fashion world, stylesmart introduces Featured Designer, Jessica Alpert-Goldman.

Plaids, matching polka dots, ripped fishnets, princess Leia buns, and fingerless lace gloves with a boy toy belt to match and...Welcome to the World According to Jess in the 8th grade. As a child, Jessica Alpert-Goldman was out to revolutionize the fashion world of the Galvin Middle School. Now, at 27, she is out to do the same to the accessory world with her fun collection of fashion-forward and function-friendly bags.

The World According to Jess was a life-long dream of designer Jessica Alpert-Goldman. It was after paying her many dues in 14 fashion-fabulous to fashion-mishap jobs, that Jess began her own "WORLD" of accessories. But no one could have imagined the success this New Jersey-based designer is enjoying. Her handbag company introduced its first line in July of 2001, and already sales span around the world.

What makes these bags so popular is also what makes them so unique. Jess creates bags for the woman who is always on-the-go, and more importantly, confident enough to be fashion fearless. She breaks all the rules..think ribbons, studs, and paint-by-number. She takes the mundane and makes it into something phenomenal. The customer should always expect the unexpected!

World According to Jess bags have received attention and praise from such trend setters in the fashion industry as Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristen Davis (Sex and the City) and pop sensation Destiny's Child.

So what's next? New markets, of course. New markets that could definitely use something a little funky and a lot more functional. World According to Jess's fall 2002 line has many new, rule-breaking designs, including Overnight, Carry-On, and Make-up Bags.
